Press ReleasesGlobal Sources to Launch China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories in April 2006 at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong KongHONG KONG, May 31, 2005 - Global Sources Ltd.'s (NASDAQ: GSOL) inaugural China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories will be held from April 15 to 18, 2006 at the new AsiaWorld-Expo venue in Hong Kong. The Fair will allow Asian suppliers of hats, scarves, umbrellas, sunglasses, handbags, casual footwear and other fashion accessories to promote and sell their products to volume buyers from around the world. The Fair is scheduled to take place twice annually in the peak spring and fall buying seasons, just prior to the Canton Fair that is also held during the peak buying seasons. China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories will be the first specialized show of its kind in Hong Kong dedicated to this grouping of fashion accessory products. Global Sources chairman and chief executive officer, Merle A. Hinrichs, said: "The China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories now becomes the third China Sourcing Fair, along with our Gifts & Home Products and Electronics & Components fairs. "Our research shows China exported more than US$200 million worth of school and casual backpacks to the US alone in 2004. China also has more than 4,000 manufacturers of casual footwear, with only about 400 presently exporting directly. The country accounted for 60 percent of world's casual footwear output in October 2004. "The China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories will support the needs of our large and well established buyer and supplier communities in this sector. In addition, the show will work together with our Fashion Accessories and Garments & Textiles magazines and websites, which were spun out of our previous Fashion Accessories & Supplies magazine we've been publishing for more than 20 years. These media offer an integrated export marketing channel for suppliers. Moreover, they offer buyers a source of reliable suppliers in the format of their choice — whether that be in print, online or face-to-face at trade shows." Global Sources' online marketplaces, magazines and trade shows in the fashion sector are further supported with a range of in-depth China Sourcing Reports on the supply market conditions in various product categories. "Cross boundary bus service and the future HK-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge will provide additional easy land access to and from the mainland and Macau.
