Popular electronics highlighted at China Sourcing Fair in Dubai

An impressive lineup of the hottest electronics in the market today was brought into the spotlight at China Sourcing Fair: Electronics at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, UAE on May 31 to June 2, 2011.

Staging the biggest China-products exhibit in the Middle East, the Fair gathered a big assembly of Greater Chinese suppliers showcasing various innovations in consumer electronics, computer & networking, telecom products, electronic accessories, home appliances and security products. Thousands of buyers visited the three-day event to keep their product line up to date and attractive to more customers. These market-responsive buyers found the Fair a perfect platform for cost-effective sourcing.

China's robust export growth has removed the shoddy label attached to "made-in-China" products as more suppliers comply with ISO standards and other international certifications. Global Sources Exhibitions President Tommy Wong stressed that the continuous growth of the China Sourcing Fairs, now on its fifth year in Dubai, is proof to the rising popularity of China-made products in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. "Buyers, importers and traders throughout the MENA region are increasingly looking to China for quality products at affordable price points. With over 30% growth in our attendance last year and 21% growth in pre-registrations for the event this year, we see the increasing demand for China-made products. We are very excited to introduce an expanding array of buyers in the region to the wide selection of suppliers at this show," he said.

Global Sources General Manager for Developing Markets Bill Janeri noted that Dubai, with its growing middle-class, provides big profit opportunities for buyers in the region and makes for an ideal China Sourcing Fair venue. "Dubai is the third largest re-export market in the world. When you look at the amount of trade that goes through this market, there is no better location," he said. "As an economy stabilizes and expands, so does its middle class. A growing middle class brings more disposable income and a growing demand for consumer products," he added.

The opening ceremony was officiated by UAE Foreign Trade Minister H.H. SheikhaLubna Al Qasimi. Also in attendance were Chinese Consul General in Dubai Zhan Jingbao, Chinese Commercial Counselor, Economic & Commercial Section in Dubai XieQinshen, Chief Representative, CCPIT & CCOIC Office in the Gulf Area Zhang Baojun and Deputy Representative, CCPIT & CCOIC Office in the Gulf Area Ma Yonghui.
