Thousands of buyers have ushered in 2010 by sourcing new products at Global Sourcing Fair: Baby & Children's Products at China's Shanghai New International Expo Centre on January 13 to 15, 2010. Asia's biggest exhibition in the booming baby and children's products industry welcomed local and international visitors who saw an opportunity to boost their business in this year's expected economic recovery.

Global Sources Exhibitions President Tommy Wong stressed that the Global Sourcing Fairs in the mainland's business capital are perfectly timed to help buyers and suppliers cash in on China's fast-growing domestic market. "These shows enable buyers to source more domestically for resale locally," he said. "China's imports and retail sales are booming - up nearly 27 percent and 16 percent, respectively, in November 2009 from a year ago," he added.

US garment company Premiere Trading Group Corp. has been a regular visitor at the Baby & Children's Products Fair. The Miami-based wholesaler expressed satisfaction over the Fair's pool of competitive suppliers and display of quality products. "We have visited the Global Sourcing Fair seven times, including the one in Hong Kong. The Fair always presents a wide variety of products, which help us update our product line," said Luis Biancalana, the company's VP for Operations. "We already met different suppliers and plan to place an order with about 5 to 6 of them. They have quality and cost effective products and that's what we are looking for -- quality and price advantage," he noted.

Yakula Kang, a first-time visitor from China's Wings company, also gave the Fair a thumbs-up rating. "We are sourcing some baby and children's desks, chairs and beds. We are satisfied with the services provided by Global Sources. The Global Sourcing Fair gathered so many suppliers and provided a good platform for buyers to source. The timing is beneficial for us as well. Our company will surely come back for the Shanghai fair next year," Kang said.

Big buyers at the January 2010 Fair included E-Land, Procter & Gamble, Itokin, Esprit, Crocs, Coles Group Asia and AEON.

The Baby & Children's Products Fair attracted a total of 7,068 buyers during the three-day show. The huge turnout was also shared with co-located Global Sourcing Fairs: Fashion Accessories and Gifts & Premiums.

Global Sourcing Fair: Baby & Children's Products features an extensive array of baby and children's products covering a wide age range for infants, kids, early teens and pre-teens.

Start your sourcing year right and catch the Fair again next year at Shanghai New International Expo Centre on January 12 to 14, 2011.
