The Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show has expressed its environmental awareness in its recent exhibition held on April 16 to 19, 2009 at the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall in Taiwan.This year, the event featured the latest motorcycle and scooter designs that are compact, fuel efficient, lightweight and safe, showing how suppliers of motor vehicles have responded to the growing demand in green technology.
Buyers from all over the world attended the four-day show, which presented 185 exhibitors. Foreign buyers reached a total of 1,429, increasing 53.81% from the previous year. Japan topped the buyer representation list, with the US, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Korea, China, Germany and the Philippines trailing behind. The number of visitors, estimated at 17,000, also reportedly rose 23% from last year. Exhibitors from Germany, Spain, Korea and China also attended the annual event.
The list of exhibited products included motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, power-assisted bicycles and electric motorcycles; parts and accessories; and manufacturing, inspection and maintenance equipment. On-site seminars were also conducted, presenting various topics on alternative vehicle technology, innovation of Taiwanese motor products, and the US motorcycle market trends. These talks also covered topics such as innovative research, green business and international collaboration.
Motorcycle Taiwan was co-located with AMPA (Taipei International Auto Parts & Accessories Show) and AutoTronics (Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show). All three events were co-sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The Taiwan External Trade Development Council organized the event.
