More exhibitors have showcased their products at this year's Taipei's International Gift & Stationery Show held at the Taipei World Trade Center in Taiwan on April 23 to 26, 2009. Taipei Giftionery exhibitors reportedly totaled 405, a growth of more than 10% from the previous year. Products including giftware, stationery, school supplies, jewelry and clocks were displayed in over 500 booths during the four-day exhibition.

International visitors likewise reportedly increased, comprising more than 13,000 from over 60 countries. The show also presented on-site programs for buyers' entertainment such as Mongolian dancers and singers, Chinese drummers and a traditional Japanese tea ceremony where visitors were invited to take part in. Moreover, Francis Chen, founder and CEO of the world-renowned Taiwanese ceramic manufacturing company Franz Collection, was among the speakers at a cultural and creative seminar at the event. The talk became one of the show's highlights.

Taiwanese manufacturers in the industry are reportedly bent on improving the quality of Taiwan-made products labeled as "cheap goods." They considered the show a great opportunity to prove that their products can be up to par with international manufacturing standards.

Show organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), revealed that plans to hold the Cultural Creative Industries Show concurrently with Giftionery in April 2010 are underway. Council executive vice president Walter Yeh said that the move is expected to provide buyers with wider product choices.

TAITRA has been staging Giftionery Taipei for three decades. The next Taipei's International Gift & Stationery Show will resume on April 22 to 25, 2010 at the Taipei World Trade Center.
